Baby Shoes and Hawaiian Bag

A good friend of mine in Hawaii asked me to make baby shoes for her friends’ babies; two for a baby girl and two for a baby boy.

I didn’t have much fabric that was fit for a boy, so I bought this cute “stars and planet” fabric for him and thought it would be nice! I made another pair with this tree fabric. I bought this at Joann a while ago and saw many people making cool stuff with this fabric on flickr!

These two pairs are for a baby girl!

When I saw these orange fabric and mushroom fabric, I fell in love with them right away!. Aren’t they adorable? I’m glad that I finally could make something with these fabrics. When I bought them at the beginning of this year, I just started sewing… so I wasn’t sure what I was going to make or what I could make. I just wanted to buy many pretty fabrics to inspire me ;)

Oh. by the way, I found the baby shoes pattern at Joanna's blog.

Lastly, this Hawaiian bag is for my friend who requested the baby shoes. I hope she will like this:)

Hawaiian Bag

When she asked me to sew baby shoes, I really wanted to make something for her as well, and I remembered that I saw this yellow Hawaiian fabric at a local store in Los Gatos, CA. This bag was soooooo fun to make!... by "fun" I mean "easy". I think I should make tutorial for it one day!

Thank you for reading!

  1. I just saw those baby shoes on flickr. They are so adorable. Now I'm going to have to comb through Joann's fabrics to see what I can find! Did you get the mushroom fabric there too?

  2. Thank you for your lovely comment! I've been so lazy to sew anything lately, but your comment actually inspire me!

I got the mushroom fabric at Eddie's quilting bee in Sunnyvale, CA. I tried to find the fabric online for you, but I didn't see it anywhere... But I will keep looking when I have time and let you know when I find it :)
